SIUE is pleased to announce the solicitation of nominations for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Humanitarian Award.

This annual award recognizes an outstanding community member and SIUE faculty/staff member, who exemplifies the humanitarian qualities and philosophy of nonviolent social change as espoused by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The winner will be recognized at the 36th annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Celebration Luncheon on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2019 at SIUE.

Please announce that nominations for this prestigious award are invited and request members of your office or affiliate organization(s) to nominate a deserving individual.

Nominations must be submitted by Friday, Jan. 4, 2019. Please submit all completed nominations to Dianne Albl, Campus Box 1058, Edwardsville, IL 62026-1158.

The SIUE Meridian Society is looking to fund projects (up to $5,000) that demonstrate a collaborative effort between an SIUE unit and a community organization.

SIUE college, schools, major units, departments and organizations (including student organizations) with an SIUE account are invited to apply for the 2019 Meridian Awards.

The Meridian Award application/proposal must be submitted and received by 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, 2019.
