Nominate an SIUE Rotary Student Leader of the Month by Nov. 16

The Kimmel Student Involvement Center, in partnership with the Edwardsville Rotary, is pleased to accept nominations for the SIUE Student Leader of the Month.

Individuals selected for this award will be recognized at an upcoming Rotary meeting and at the annual Kimmel Leadership Awards Ceremony in April.

SIUE students can be nominated by students, faculty or staff. No self-nominations will be considered. Applications are accepted on an on-going basis, and should be received by the 16th of the month to be considered for that month's award. Any nominees not selected for one month, will be considered for the following months. Awards will be given for September through April each academic year.

Candidates will be selected based on the following criteria:

· High academic standards
· Campus involvement and activities
· Service to others on and off campus
· Leadership within their academic area or within an organization
· Demonstrated ability to promote spirit and pride at SIUE

Fall Faculty/Staff Green Dot Education Session, Nov. 19

Green Dot is a comprehensive violence prevention program with objectives to decrease the likelihood of dating and domestic violence, stalking and sexual assault.

The intent of the education sessions is to train faculty and staff to endorse, model and support two Green Dot values:
1. Power-based personal violence is not tolerated in our campus community
2. Everyone will do their part to prevent violence

2018 Angel Tree Deadline, Nov. 26

Local children are in need of gifts and clothes this holiday season!

Any organization, student, faculty or staff can sponsor a child or multiple children this holiday season.

We are once again working with the Salvation Army to secure names of local children in need.

To sponsor a child, please stop by the Student Government Office front desk located in the Student Success Center (SSC), room 1280.

Please note these important dates:
Monday, Nov. 5 - Started Angel sign up and pick up
Monday, Nov. 26 - Deadline to sponsor a child
Monday, Nov. 26 - Last day to pick-up Angels by 4 p.m.
Tuesday-Thursday, Nov. 27- 29 - Drop off labeled, unwrapped presents to Student Government Office in SSC 1280

Saturday, Dec. 1 - Children's holiday celebration and gift pick-up
Holiday party with kids: 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
Package pick-ups - 1-4 p.m.

We encourage our student organizations to participate in the event on Saturday, Dec. 1. The organization that accumulates the most "angel points" by adopting the most angels, donating wrapping paper or providing the most volunteers will receive a $150 credit on their organization account! As well, there will be treats, games, crafts, pictures with Santa, and opportunities to interact with the children you are sponsoring.

Transfer Orientation Student Leaders Wanted

Payroll Deduction Option Available for Student Fitness Center Membership

SIUE faculty and staff will have the option to sign up for payroll deduction for a Student Fitness Center membership.

• Membership is in effect from the date that you sign up through December 1, 2019.
• Four equal payments of $60 will be deducted from each January and February paycheck

You can sign up throughout November at the Student Fitness Center Reception Desk.
