"Ten Thousand Lives" Recital, Sept. 25

Flu Shots Available Beginning Oct. 1

Health Service has received its shipment of flu vaccine (Fluarix® Quadrivalent), and is pleased to offer flu vaccine to faculty, staff, retirees and students.

Health Service is able to provide flu shots to employees and retirees who are the primary insurer in a state sponsored insurance plan at no charge.

In order to receive the vaccine at no charge, employees must:
1.) Document the last four digits of your social security number
2.) Present your University ID and
3.) Present your state health insurance card

Retirees must

Health Service is able to provide flu immunization at a cost of $30 (cash or check only) to SIUE employees not covered under a state health plan.

Pease plan to wear clothing for easy access to the upper arm injection site.

WALK-IN Flu Shot Clinics will be available in the Lower Level of the Student Success Center. In order for us to continue to provide dedicated nursing service to our students during this time, we will use the meeting rooms close to our clinical office. There will be signs to identify the appropriate place.

Dance Marathon Krispy Kreme Donut Sale

It's that time of the year again! SIUE Dance Marathon is selling Krispy Kreme donuts for $8 a dozen!

All proceeds go to support Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in the local St. Louis area and can be purchased at Krispy Kreme.

First Day for Students to Complete FAFSA, Oct. 1

The first day a student can complete the 2019-20 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is Monday, Oct. 1.

Students can go to FAFSA.gov or download the new App, myStudentAid.

The FAFSA is used to determine financial aid eligibility for the upcoming year. Some awards are based on a first-come, first-served basis. The earlier students file the FAFSA, the better!

Nominate Someone for an Honorary Degree

The Honorary Degrees and Distinguished Service Award Committee invites nominations from the University community for consideration by the committee. All departments and schools are asked to consider and submit well-deserving nominations. 

Please visit siue.edu/ugov/faculty/hdegree/ for details on the criteria for submission and the nomination forms. A list of former recipients is available for review on the University Archives website siue.edu/lovejoylibrary/archives/commence.shtml.

Please note that current University employees are not eligible for awards. 

Nominations must be received no later than Monday, Oct. 8. Submissions should include the appropriate nomination form along with biographical information. Nominate a Champion for Diversity

The Office of Institutional Diversity and Inclusion invites the SIUE community to nominate a faculty or staff member for the 2018-2019 SIUE Champion for Diversity Award.

This award is presented to a faculty or staff member who has demonstrated an exemplary level of dedication to SIUE’s mission of fostering equal opportunity, positive interactions with students, staff and faculty, and who respects and values differing backgrounds and points of view within SIUE.  

Nominations are now open and should be received by Wednesday, Oct. 17. The Champion for Diversity Award will be recognized annually during December commencement and will consist of a plaque and $500 donated to a University diversity and inclusion project of the recipient’s choice.
