Office of Admissions to Host Students as Part of Camp College Program

The SIUE Office of Undergraduate Admissions will host 50 high school students participating in the Illinois Association for College Admission Counseling (IACAC) Camp College program today through Friday, July 13.

Through Camp College, students will learn how to navigate a college fair, write an essay and identify which college is the best fit for them.

Take a Lifelong Learning Road Trip to NCERC and Recess Brewing

You're invited on a Lifelong Learning road trip to the NCERC at SIUE and Recess Brewing.

Learn how NCERC is advancing biofuels research through a guided tour, including a short tour of the beer, wine and spirits production.

The Office of Educational Outreach is offering the following non-credit classes this summer.

GRE Test Prep
5:30-8:30 p.m.
Tuesdays, beginning today–August 14 or
9 a.m.-Noon
Wednesdays, July 11 – August 15 
The cost is $499 for community participants or $449 for SIUE students.

Prepare for the GRE test with our GRE Review course taught by knowledgeable instructors. The GRE Test Review features questions that reflect the kind of questions given on the GRE Test, so you will feel confident on test day.

Beginning Genealogy Research
6-7:30 p.m.
Wednesdays, July 11– August 15
The cost is $59.

Tracing your family history is a fascinating journey. This course will help you understand the genealogy research process and the way we interpret the information we find. You will learn through hands-on examples that help you dig deeper into your family’s past. Make your family history come alive!

Security Enhanced at Cougar Village

Three new video surveillance cameras are scheduled to be installed by University Housing at Cougar Village. One in the new fitness room that is being built in the lower level of the Cougar Village Commons building, and two outside of the Cougar Village Commons building focusing on the parking lot.

The new equipment will be used by Campus Police to protect students, reduce the risk of theft, and reduce damage to property in the area immediately around the new fitness room and the parking areas. The cameras are meant to enhance the overall safety and security at Cougar Village. In accordance with Section II (F) of the University’s Video Surveillance Policy, Vice Chancellor for Administration Rich Walker has approved the installation of the additional security equipment.

Attend A Midsummer Night's Dream at SIUE

The Department of Theater and Dance will present William Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" in the Metcalf Theater:

All seating is general admission. House opens one half-hour before curtain. Due to the intimacy of Metcalf Theater, late comers may not be seated.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors, non-SIUE students, children, SIUE retirees, alumni, faculty and staff. SIUE students get in free with a valid ID.
