Security Enhanced at Cougar Village

Three new video surveillance cameras are scheduled to be installed by University Housing at Cougar Village. One in the new fitness room that is being built in the lower level of the Cougar Village Commons building, and two outside of the Cougar Village Commons building focusing on the parking lot.

The new equipment will be used by Campus Police to protect students, reduce the risk of theft, and reduce damage to property in the area immediately around the new fitness room and the parking areas. The cameras are meant to enhance the overall safety and security at Cougar Village. In accordance with Section II (F) of the University’s Video Surveillance Policy, Vice Chancellor for Administration Rich Walker has approved the installation of the additional security equipment.
