This new Kindermusik curriculum focuses on your child's beginning movement, helping to build the muscles your baby needs to walk, and vocal development, helping to nurture your child’s speaking and singing voice. With a mix of both parent-child joint activities and child-focused activities, you’ll be able to join right in on all the singing and dancing while also getting the chance to observe how your older baby or toddler learns on her own.

Chancellor Pembrook Talks Economics with Tim Sullivan on WSIE’s Segue

Understanding economics at regional, state and national levels can lead even the most experienced economists down a rabbit hole filled with data, risk assessments, budgets, market forces, taxes and other financial jargon.

SIUE’s Tim Sullivan, instructor in the Department of Economics and Finance, and director of the Office of Regional Economic Analysis in the School of Business, has worked for nearly 30 years to better understand the economy and share his wealth of knowledge with his students.

On this week’s episode of Segue, SIUE’s premier radio show, Chancellor Randy Pembrook and Sullivan discuss the instructor’s trek into the world of economics, and take a look into what factors affect the region, state and country’s overall financial situation.

Their conversation will air at 9 a.m. Sunday, March 11, on WSIE 88.7 FM The Sound.

Kelly Lasiter Receives March Employee Recognition Award

Please join us in congratulating Lasiter as the Employee of the Month:
9 a.m.
Wednesday, March 28
Peck Hall, Room 1306

You can also send her a congratulatory email at klasite@siue.edu

“What an honor! I would like to thank Dr. Jerry O'Brien for the nomination and all of the faculty, graduate assistants and students of the Department of Social Work for all that you do," said Lasiter. "Working at SIUE is a pleasure and an ongoing learning experience.”

“Kelly is a very positive person, and is highly supportive of faculty and students," said Jerry O'Brien, PhD, Department of Social Work chair. "As the first person that many students communicate with in the Department, Kelly is always personable and pleasant. These characteristics also typify her contacts with others throughout the University. In our social work program, where we teach our students the importance of responding to others with dignity and respect, it is important to have a person as the 'face' of the department who manifests these qualities. ”

For more information, contact Jen Oates-Blair at joatesb@siue.edu or 650-2127.
