Visiting Scholars' Give Their First Presentation Today

SIUE’s International Training Program in Pedagogy is hosting 12 visiting scholars from Northwest Normal University (NWNU) and Sichuan University of Science and Engineering (SUSE) in China.

The scholars’ first presentation will be:

SIUE to Induct Seven to Alumni Hall of Fame Tonight

SIUE will honor seven remarkable graduates at the 2016 SIUE Alumni Hall of Fame ceremony A Night Among the Stars tonight in the Morris University Center. These alumni have achieved exploits in their respective fields, are role models and are testaments to SIUE’s educational excellence. A cocktail reception in the MUC gallery will begin at 6:30 p.m. Dinner and an awards presentation will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the MUC Conference Center. The inductees include:

SIU School of Dental Medicine: Dr. Darryl Pendleton, DMD ’86

Look for SIUE Booth at The Land of Goshen Community Farmer's Market

The Land of Goshen Community Farmer’s Market is held in downtown Edwardsville Saturday mornings through October 15. At the Market, businesses and farmers gather in tents—rain or shine—to sell their locally made products.

This year, the City of Edwardsville graciously offered the University booth space. Each week, a different department will host the SIUE tent to provide information on events, issues or offerings.

Cougars Unleashed Homecoming Run Takes Off on Oct. 1

The SIUE Alumni Association, Campus Recreation and Campus Activities Board are co-hosting the Cougars Unleashed Homecoming Run on Saturday, Oct. 1.

Visit the Cougars Unleashed Homecoming Run registration site and get signed up today! 

Course routes for the 10K, 5K and 1-mile will showcase the beauty and nature that SIUE has to offer.

After the run, stay and enjoy a world-famous Chris Cakes pancake breakfast (included in your paid registration fee). Proceeds go to support scholarships for deserving SIUE students.

New FAFSA Process to Benefit Students, Beginning Oct. 1

Current and prospective SIUE students need to be aware of significant changes in the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) process.

Students will now begin annually filing their FAFSA on Saturday, Oct. 1, which is three months earlier than in the past.

Beginning Oct. 1, students will file their 2017-18 FAFSA using 2015 income and tax information.

The 2016 Study Abroad Fair will showcase SIUE faculty-led programs, which is the University's international partner institutions, affiliate companies and services.

Faculty and staff can encourage students to attend to learn more about study abroad at SIUE. Students will hear from study abroad veterans, and talk with faculty leaders as well as program and service providers.

Faculty interested in leading future abroad programs are also welcome to ask questions.
