Join Billy Johnson, transportation manager in SIUE’s Facilities Management, as he shares helpful advice on scheduling maintenance for your vehicle, adding and preserving fuel efficiency and handling retail repairs with pushy salesmen.

New FAFSA Process to Benefit Students, Beginning Oct. 1

Current and prospective SIUE students need to be aware of significant changes in the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) process.

Students will now begin annually filing their FAFSA on Saturday, Oct. 1, which is three months earlier than in the past.

Beginning Oct. 1, students will file their 2017-18 FAFSA using 2015 income and tax information.

Depression Screening Day, Oct. 4

Representatives from the School of Nursing and Counseling Services will be on hand to administer a brief depression screening tool for interested individuals.

The screening tool is anonymous and responses will be discussed in a private space.

Katie Stuart, candidate for Illinois House of Representatives, District 112, will have an open forum:

Please join us for this SUAAction-sponsored legislative forum to hear the candidate’s views on issues of great importance to higher education. Welch will pose a series of detailed questions to the candidate regarding her legislative priorities, pension reform, taxation of pensions, constitutional amendments affecting pensions, health insurance benefits, state funding and revenues, and related topics.

Those who are invited include SIUE retirees, current employees and survivors, SUAA members from SWIC and SUAA members from SWIC Granite City campus.

Also watch for the formal invitation to a second SUAAction-sponsored forum with Rep. Dwight Kay, tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 18 at SIUE.

Safe Zone Ally Training, Oct. 28 and Nov. 4

Safe Zone is once again offering Ally Training.

Training is being offered on two dates:

1-3:30 p.m.
Friday, Oct. 28

9-11:30 a.m.
Friday, Nov. 4

The goal of training is to provide attendees skills and understanding for supporting the LGBT community.

You must pre-register to attend this training. Space is limited, so sign up now!
