As interim chancellor, Hansen provided leadership and direction during one of the most challenging years for higher education in the state of Illinois. During his lengthy SIUE career, he has also served as interim dean of SIUE’s College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), dean of the SIUE Graduate School and a history professor in CAS.
