The Chancellor Search Advisory Committee is pleased to announce that the following candidates will be on campus interviewing for the SIUE chancellor position over the next few weeks.

Each candidate will present at a public forum on the topic, “Advancing SIUE in a Financially Challenging Climate.”

American Muslim Member of the Ulama Presenting Today

Members of the SIUE community will have an opportunity to hear from and speak to Sayyid Sameer Ali, an American Muslim member of the ulama. The ulama is the body of Muslim scholars who balance the exigencies of modern life with centuries of inherited scholarship on everything from the division of estates to the welfare of the heart.

Attend the Library and Information Services (LIS) Symposium 2016, entitled, "Assessment in Libraries: Measuring Impact, Planning for Success."

Workers Compensation Overview Session

The Office of Human Resources will hold a Workers Compensation (WC) overview session for SIUE employees who supervise others and handle WC requests.

This session is intended for supervisors and above, as we will cover the administrative duties, explain the employee benefits and discuss the overall procedure that should be followed in case of an injury.

Pet Owner Blood Pressure Screenings, April 23

Members of the Metro East Humane Society and the SIUE School of Pharmacy will host a Pet Vaccination Clinic to provide low-cost vaccinations for pets, as well as free blood pressure screenings for their owners.

Black Lives Matter Reloaded Conference, April 25

SIUE Interim Chancellor Stephen Hansen and the Office of Institutional Diversity and Inclusion cordially invite you to SIUE Black Lives Matter Reloaded “A Community Dialogue on Microaggressions.”

Microaggressions are common verbal, behavioral and environmental indignities, whether intentional or unintentional, that communicate hostile or negative slights to marginalized groups. Perpetrators of microaggressions are often unaware that they engage in such interactions when they interact with minorities. (Sue, et al, Columbia University, Teachers College, 2007)
