The Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center will host a blood drive on campus:

Upcoming ITS Training Sessions

There are several ITS training sessions and open labs scheduled for the upcoming weeks and months.

Training will be offered on Blackboard, Zoom, Cascade, Banner, Office365, Qualtrics, Turnitin, Starfish and other systems.

Many of these sessions will offer the option to join online so you can participate from your office or anywhere else with a reliable internet connection.  

Hone your skills or learn something new.

River Bluff Review Reading and Release Event, Jan. 25

This year’s River Bluff Review reading and release event will be held:

4:30 p.m.

The event will last for approximately one hour and is open to the public.

Dr. Linda Markowitz's Presentation about the Holidays, Jan. 27

Dr. Linda Markowitz, professor in the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice Studies, will give the presentation:

"Christian Ignorance and the Selective Application of Abstract Individualism"

Markowitz will explore the ignoring of Christian privilege in on public space -- elementary schools. 

Using 27 interviews, she will show how elementary school teachers and administrators cultivate a culture of ignorance about the celebration of Christmas in their public schools.

Coming Feb 27: Defense Workshop

The SIUE Police Department is presenting a one-day, free of charge, self defense course: Rape, Aggression, Defense (R.A.D.) Systems. The course is offered for WOMEN ONLY (faculty, staff, students and their guests).

Morris University Center Upper Level Conference Center

R.A.D. is a nationally certified self defense program designed specifically for women.  We will spend the day teaching you different techniques on how to defend yourself. At the end of the day, we put an officer in a padded suit and allow the students to use the skills taught to defend themselves.  

Appropriate clothing would be tennis shoes, T-shirt with sweat pants or shorts. Bring money for lunch options in the MUC or bring a sack lunch.
