Explore the night sky in all its glory during SIUE Astronomy Viewing Sessions, every even-dated Tuesday at the William C. Shaw Skylab on the north edge of campus (GPS: 38.809270, -89.993801).

Our first spring viewing will be held:

Dates for the spring semester include today, Jan. 26, Feb. 2 and 16, March 22 and April 12 and 26, starting at 8:30 p.m.

These events are open to the public and hosted by Dr. Tom Foster.

SIUE students have consistently expressed their desire and need for an expanded weight room and we are excited to report that the Student Fitness Center weight room expansion project is now complete!

At our open house you will not only have the opportunity to check out the expanded space that will better accommodate our students, but also see some of our new equipment and enhanced amenities, watch equipment demonstrations, speak with our personal trainers and receive membership information.

History Research Brown Bags Resume Jan. 15

The History Research Brown Bags resume in Spring 2016 with a presentation by Ann M. Sheppard, master’s student in the department of Historical Studies.

She will be talking about her research, entitled “Lynching in the Border States: Press Coverage Change over Time, 1901-1942."

A Season For The Child Continues with Goldilocks Jan. 16

A Season for the Child, the family-oriented live theater season—sponsored by the SIUE Friends of Theater and Dance (FOTAD)—continues its 26th season with a new version of the traditional fairytale Goldilocks.

The production is presented by the Imaginary Theatre Company, the traveling arm of the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis.

Individual tickets for the performance and the final show for the 2015-16 season are $7 per adult and $5 per child. Tickets are available through the SIUE Fine Arts box office at (618) 650-2774.

Pink Zone Shirts Now Available For Pre-Order

Now's your chance to pre-order this year's Pink Zone short or long sleeve shirt!

Pink Zone is the Women’s Basketball fundraiser focusing on breast cancer awareness and there are several activities highlighted to raise money. In addition to tee shirts sales, there will be an evening reception at the DoubleTree on February 3, a silent auction during the reception and Pink Zone game on February 6 at 2 p.m. in the Vadalabene Center versus UT Martin, as well as the Coaches Challenge during the game. You will also have the opportunity to support SIUE celebrities as they raise money during Pledge the Runners for Remembrance.

Your support is appreciated in our third year of this program. Pink Zone has raised more than $15,000 during its first two years! All proceeds go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Attend the Diabetes Patient Education Symposium Jan. 30

SIUE School of Pharmacy students and faculty would like to invite you to attend the 10th Annual Diabetes Patient Education Symposium. The symposium is for patient/caregivers of those affected with diabetes or pre-diabetes.

Educational Sessions include such topics as personalized medicine, diabetes technology, myth busters and healthy eating. The vendor fair will include free lunch, free cholesterol testing, free A1c testing for patients with diabetes, access to information on community services and one-on-one counseling sessions with registered pharmacists, nurses and dietitians who work within the diabetes care arenas.
