Please Welcome and Assist New International Students

SIUE welcomed 42 new international students this week. These students represent 13 countries, including Kenya, Haiti, Russia, Bangladesh and Iran.

Most are graduate students, with a few undergraduate and short-term exchange students.

If you see international students on campus who may need help, your assistance is appreciated!

Feel free to direct any student needing help to the Office of International Affairs located in the Student Success Center Room 0300. They can also contact the office by phone at 618-650-3785.

Consider Joining a Learning Community

Consider participating in a learning community this spring! Learning communities are groups of three to five faculty/staff that come together to help each other enhance teaching and learning at SIUE.

Learning communities are informal ways to hear what other people on campus are doing to engage students and to receive feedback from a group of colleagues about dilemmas you may be having with student engagement.

Groups meet once a month for about an hour. If you are interested, email Linda Markowitz at lmarkow@siue.edu.
