Volunteers to Welcome Students to Campus on Jan. 11

Student Affairs is continuing its efforts to welcome new and returning students to campus on Monday, Jan. 11.

Please consider volunteering an hour to get the semester started on the right foot:

Ask Me! volunteers stand in key locations across campus with an “Ask Me!” sign and button to answer questions and get students pointed in the right direction for their classes or to conduct business.

If you can help, sign up for a shift here.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Donate to International Hospitality Program at SIUE Jan. 6

The International Hospitality Program at SIUE welcomes our international students to the area. We could really use your help in filling requests from our new group of spring semester international students!

The beginning of a New Year is often the time to reorganize and replace items in your household. If you have any of these smaller household items to donate, please feel free to bring them to the donations area at our IHP Spring Welcome Reception in the small gym of the Student Fitness Center on Wednesday, Jan. 6. Student ambassadors and IHP members will be available to help you unload starting at 4:00 p.m.

  • small desks, chairs and reading tables
  • vacuum cleaners
  • beds/mattresses (twin & full size only)
  • sheets
  • blankets/comforters
  • towels/wash cloths
  • small, light sofas/futons
  • living room chairs
  • lamps
  • kitchen tables & chairs
  • kitchen utensils, pots & pans, dishes

If you have larger furniture items, please DO NOT bring those to the reception. Instead, contact Susan Jernigan, IHP Secretary, at sjernigan@charter.net or 618-304-3443 and she will try to arrange for pickup.
