Greetings from the Dean

I am pleased to report to you that our hard work continues to pay off. The Southern Illinois University Edwardsville School of Engineering reported a five percent increase in undergraduate enrollment from spring 2016 to the spring 2017 semester.  This represents one of the largest enrollment increases on the SIUE campus.

In addition to our enrollment increase, we also continue to develop new partnerships with industries in the St. Louis area.  By offering certification programs, faculty collaborations with businesses in the area, and entrepreneurial opportunities for students, our reputation for quality education is becoming well known.

Finally, our Student Design Center is rapidly becoming reality.  Phase one of the construction is scheduled to be completed before the fall semester, and we are diligently working on securing funding for the second phase.  For more information on the project, click here.

Sincerely,
Cem Karacal, PhD
Dean
