The SIU SDM celebrated the achievements of 52 students with the bestowal of doctor of dental medicine degrees during its commencement ceremony held Saturday, June 2 in SIUE’s Morris University Center’s Meridian Ballroom.

The SIU SDM’s 43rd class of graduates received their doctoral hoods, including six students who completed the School’s inaugural International Advanced Placement Program, which began in 2016.

SIU SDM female faculty, staff and students were encouraged to build confidence, pursue their desired work-life balance, negotiate and network to achieve professional success during a women’s empowerment presentation held Tuesday, May 29 on the SIU SDM campus.

The SIU SDM prides itself on providing a high-quality, service-focused education that is built on a foundation of research and clinical experiences that form the basis for professional practice. Two SIU SDM students have gained national attention for their research excellence.

Second year student Luke Revelt, of Edwardsville, earned the 2018 American Association for Dental Research (AADR) Student Research Fellowship. Third year student Vidhi Pandya, of Bloomington, has been presented the 2018 Odontographic Society of Chicago’s Dr. Irwin B. Robinson Award for Student-Researcher Excellence.
