Thank you to all those who helped make the 2016 Dean's Scholarship Gala a success. Through your generosity and support, we will be able to offer another set of scholarship awards to three deserving dental students during the 2017-2018 Academic Year.  In addition, your contribution in support of the Gala will help us grow the SIU School of Dental Medicine Student Scholarship Endowment Fund.

SIU SDM Provides More than $63,000 in Free Care During Give Kids A Smile Day

The Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine provided free comprehensive dental care, valued at $63,514, to more than 125 children during its 11th Annual Give Kids A Smile Day, held Monday, Oct. 10.

Dental students, faculty and other local professionals volunteered their time and combined their efforts to offer the care, including x-rays, cleanings, fluoride treatments, fillings and extractions.

SIU SDM White Coat Ceremony Marks Students’ Commitment to Dentistry

Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine first year students and the inaugural class of the International Advanced Placement Program (IAPP) received the traditional coat of medical professionals, during the School’s 16th annual White Coat Ceremony held Friday, Sept. 30. 

The first year cohort of 52 students, and six IAPP students, took the professional oath, and committed to uphold the School’s values of service, respect, integrity, compassion and competence.
