Princeton Review Tabs School of Business Among Nation's Best

The Princeton Review has named SIUE's School of Business as one of the best in the country for on-campus MBA for the 13th consecutive year. The education services company features the School in the 2019 edition of its book, "The Best 252 Business Schools."

“The gratifying aspect of this ranking is recognition from The Princeton Review is based primarily on feedback from students and alumni about their educational experiences in our School,” said SIUE School of Business Dean Tim Schoenecker, PhD. “The positive reviews that we receive provide confidence that we are meeting our mission to prepare business professionals with the ability to contribute significantly to the success of their employers early in their careers.”

Alumnus Named CFO of the Scoular Company

Andrew Kenny, BSA '05, MBA '06, has been named chief financial officer of The Scoular Company, headquartered in Omaha, Neb.

Economics and Finance Major is Lincoln Academy Student Laureate

Austin Tuttle Lincoln Academy Student Laureate

Senior economics and finance major Austin Tuttle, of Sherman, was recognized during the Lincoln Academy of Illinois’ 43rd Annual Student Laureate Convocation on Saturday, Nov. 17 at the Old State Capitol in Springfield. The annual event honors one senior from each of the state’s four-year, degree-granting colleges and universities for their excellence in curricular and extracurricular activities.

Riza Demirer, PhD, professor in the School of Business’ Department of Economics and Finance, is the inaugural recipient of the Lawrence B. Heitz Faculty Research Award.

Demirer was selected for his exceptional and original scholarship in the areas of investments, asset pricing, risk management, valuation and decision theory.

Gregg Korte is now president of Korte & Luitjohan, after having served as vice president of the family business since 1997. He earned a bachelor’s in business administration in 1989.
