Message from the Chair

Greetings from the Department of Economics and Finance!

Our high-caliber, dynamic and innovative group of faculty has had another very good year. They once again demonstrated their research productivity as shown by a large number of publications. Additionally, the Department of Economics and Finance continues innovating in its undergraduate and graduate program to promote our students’ already high competitiveness in the academic and business world even further.

Our department has enjoyed healthy enrollment growth in our BUEF and CAS (College of Arts and Science) economics programs for the past years. Our graduates remain very successful in the job market, and they tend to receive speedy promotion once they start their work life. The department’s aim of identifying the expectations of the job market and introducing meaningful changes in our curriculum has been critical to our graduates’ success, but only second to our students’ hard work and dedication.

We genuinely like to hear from you about your life and work experience, because knowing what we are doing well and what needs to be added is very helpful information for us. Please consider the Department of Economics and Finance as a place to which you can always return and at which you are always welcome. I look forward to seeing you or hearing from you in the near future.

Sincerely,

Ayse Evrensel

Associate Professor and Chair

The accolade is an academic rank awarded to tenured faculty members in recognition of outstanding and sustained contributions to research and creative activities.
