Dr. James Eilers, 1944-2021; Was Emeritus Professor of Chemistry

James Eilers, PhD, of Edwardsville, died Friday, March 12. He was 77.
Eilers began working in the College of Arts and Sciences’ Department of Chemistry in August 1994. He retired in May 2014. Eilers was co-sponsor of the Dr. James Eilers Award in physical chemistry and the Dr. Virginia Bryan Award in chemical education endowment.
Because of COVID-19 restrictions, no memorial is planned at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date when possible.
Arrangements were handled by Saksa Funeral Homes in Edwardsville and Granite City.
