Phyllis Brake, 1951-2021; Was Housing Staff

Phyllis Brake, of Collinsville, died Friday, April 2 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. She was 70.
A St. Louis native, Brake joined the University in 1990 and was the mail clerk in University Housing until her retirement in June 2012.
Former University Housing Director Mike Schultz said, “She was one of those front-line staff that had great relationships with students and was labeled by many students as their second mom.”
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
