William White, 1957-2019; Was Engineering Faculty
William “Bill” White, PhD, of Edwardsville, died Friday, Jan. 18 at his home after dealing with serious recent health issues. He was 61.
A remembrance for Dr. White will be held on Friday, Feb. 1, at 10:30 a.m. at the Fuller Dome Center for Spirituality and Sustainability.
A Louisville, Ky. native, White served as a computer science professor in the School of Engineering. He came to SIUE as an assistant professor in August 1996, was promoted to associate professor in July 2000, and was named a full professor in July 2006.
White taught many courses during his 22 years at SIUE: human-computer interaction design; computer graphics; game design, development and technology; introduction to computing for engineers; interaction programming; introduction to computing III; algorithms and data structures; and software engineering
