SIUE’s University Housing Recognizes Residents on Dean’s List
On Feb. 10, University Housing hosted the Housing Dean’s List Reception to recognize Southern Illinois University Edwardsville residents who achieved a place on the Fall 2025 Dean’s List. More than 90 recipients, along with their families and guests, attended this year’s event. Campus administrators, faculty, and staff were present to celebrate the students' academic accomplishments. The ceremony featured remarks from Andy Benoit, EdD, Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management.
“Earning Dean’s List distinction is never accidental,” stated Benoit. “Residence hall life is very vibrant, energetic and full of opportunity. It requires balance. You pursue academic excellence while sharing space, building friendships, navigating independence, and fully engaging in the SIUE experience. That is no small feat.”
In fall 2025, 967 University Housing residents made the Dean’s List. To make the Dean’s List, students must have a 3.5 or higher GPA. In the fall 2025 semester, 406 of those students earned a 4.0 GPA.
“Awesome organizations, deadlines and effort made this possible,” stated resident Taushif Ahmad.
Assistant Vice Chancellor and Director of University Housing, Mallory Sidarous, commented on the long-running success of the event: “University Housing is thrilled to recognize this exceptional group of students. Their efforts are commendable, and we are grateful for the opportunity to be part of their university experience. In addition to the Dean’s List, many of these students are active members of their residential communities, often showing up in leadership, programming, and support.”
In addition to the featured remarks, light refreshments and a photobooth were available for students and families. Dean’s List recipients also received a Dean’s List lapel pin, acknowledging their achievement.
