Plan Your Visit to SIUE This Spring

As the New Year progresses, it’s time for prospective and admitted students to set goals and envision the next steps in their educational journeys. Southern Illinois University Edwardsville invites these individuals and their guests to add a campus visit to their calendars this spring.
“Whether you are just beginning the college search process or have already narrowed your list to your top schools, visiting campus is one of the surest ways to help you decide if that college is the right fit,” said Alicia Taylor, associate director of admissions in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. “A visit to SIUE will help you picture yourself on campus, whether that’s learning in the classroom, hanging out with your friends in the Morris University Center, living on campus, or catching up on studying between classes on the Quad.”
Daily campus visits, offered at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday through Friday, and at 9:30 a.m. on select Saturdays, provide a comprehensive look into life as a Cougar at SIUE. Each visit includes a 30-minute admissions presentation and a campus and housing tour led by a current student. Select dates also feature academic information sessions for students interested in meeting faculty and learning more about program offerings.
Students interested in transferring to SIUE are invited to attend Transfer Visit Days, held on select Thursdays and Fridays throughout the spring. These sessions provide information about the transfer process, financial aid, housing, and campus life, along with a campus tour that includes on-campus apartments. An optional transfer credit evaluation is offered to determine how existing credits will translate to SIUE.
“Transfer students are a vital part of our campus community,” Taylor said. “Transfer Visit Days are a great option for those students who have some college experience and want to understand how that experience fits with SIUE.”
Guests needing accommodations, including alternate format media or guidance on physical access, should contact the Office for Accessible Campus Community and Equitable Student Support (ACCESS) in advance at myaccess@siue.edu, 618-650-3726, or siue.edu/access. Disability parking is available in Visitor Lot B, a map to which can be found at siue.edu/maps.
