SIUE Hosts Full-Scale Active Shooter Reunification Drill

Southern Illinois University Edwardsville served as the site of a full-scale emergency preparedness drill organized by the St. Louis Area Regional Response system. The event was covered by First Alert 4.
The exercise simulated the response and reunification process following an active shooter scenario, with a focus on safely reconnecting students with their families.
More than 250 participants — including police, fire, and public health agencies — took part in two drills, with the second exercise held later in the week at the Fort Zumwalt School District.
