EdGlen Today and Riverbender featured the award announcement from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville's Department of Construction. The Departmentreceived a $600,000 commitment from the Southern Illinois Builders Association (SIBA) and the Southern Illinois Construction Advancement Program (SICAP) to support student recruitment and workforce development in its construction management program. The three-year investment will fund recruitment awards for incoming students and a marketing campaign — set to launch in August 2026 — to boost enrollment and program visibility. Both organizations cited growing workforce shortages in the regional construction industry as the motivation behind the partnership.
SIUE's accredited construction management program combines business and engineering coursework, preparing graduates for careers in project management, bid estimation, field supervision, and business ownership.
