SIUE Community Engagement provides students, faculty and staff the opportunity to apply academic knowledge, gain skills and experience, and contribute to the community. Service opportunities are available throughout the St. Louis metropolitan area and within the University community. Meet the Team
AmeriCorps Scholarship
By enrolling in AmeriCorps and completing an average of nine hours of community service each week, you could be eligible for a scholarship of $1342.86. Your service scholarship can be applied to current or future tuition at any institution that accepts U.S. federal financial aid dollars, including graduate and professional schools, or towards any federally-backed student loans.
Blood Drives
American Red Cross and Impact Life (Formerly Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center) host monthly Blood Drives on campus open to students, staff, faculty and community members!
Cougar Cupboard
SIUE Cougar Cupboard food pantry serves students, staff and faculty with emergent food issues. The Cupboard provides three days of food for visitors, has resources for additional food insecurities and is conveniently located in the Morris University Center.
Food Recovery Network
Food Recovery Network is a student powered initiative centered on food sustainability. Students have the opportunity to craft meals with food recovered from campus and community partners to be donated to community agencies that distribute them to the clients!
HIV Testing

The SIUE Community Engagement Team’s partnership with St. Clair County Health Department has allowed us to provide for students, staff, faculty, and other community members the following services:
- Access to on campus HIV testing (Dates Below)
- Access to St. Clair County Health Department HIV-positive case management
- Access to St. Clair County Health Department HIV medical care
- Access to free male and female condoms, lubricant, and educational literature
- Access to education sessions regarding HIV basics, risk reduction, and Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) which is a daily medication used to prevent the transmission of HIV.

Service Learning
Service learning gives students the opportunity to create a safe, meaningful and educational experience that relates to their chosen field of study. The Service Learning experiences are intended to give students a new lens to approach their educational career through.
Service Saturdays
Service Saturdays provides site coordination and transportation to students seeking service opportunities. Students can complete service with homelessness, poverty, animal rights and welfare, food insecurity, environmental sustainability, and home repair.
Voter Registration and Voting
SIUE serves as an early voting and election location. Look for voter registration drives at the beginning of each semester. We also would encourage you to follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and check out #siuevotes.
