Frequently Asked Questions

Does the President of the organization have to attend this session?

No.  We strongly encourage officers to attend the session, but we welcome any member of your organization to serve as the representatives at the session.

Can one person represent multiple organizations?

Yes.  A student may represent as many groups as they wish, as long as they are an active member of that organization.

My organization never requests funds from Student Government.  Why should we attend?

This session will provide great information about Marketing, Recruitment, Retention, general leadership skills for individual members, and policies and procedures that govern all organizations. The information provided will be valuable to all organizations--even if you don't plan to request funds from Student Government (however, you might learn about something that you can get funded through Student Government at the session!).

What happens if my organization does not send representatives to the program?

If your organization does not send representatives to the program, you will be ineligible for all funding from Student Government for the 2019-2020 academic year (including funds already allocated for programs, travel, and annual allocations) and will not be allowed to receive space in the Kimmel Student Involvement Center (offices and lockers--including organizations that currently hold space).

My organization cannot send representatives to the program on September 21.  What should we do?

We understand that there might be rare instances where an entire organization would be unavailable to attend this program.  If you do not have members who can attend the program, the President should email Sarah Laux ( with information about why the members cannot attend.  Sarah will work with the organization to determine the best course of action.

Should advisers attend SOLO?

While we always welcome advisers at any of our programs, this session is specifically for our student organization leaders.  If you would like to serve as a presenter at the program for the breakout sessions, please contact Sarah Laux ( for more information.
