SIUE Student Government

To minimize the risks associated with COVID-19 to the SIUE community, Student Government has suspended all in-person programs, services, and meetings effective Wednesday, March 18 until further notice. This includes Finance Board and Student Organization Advisory Board meetings. All funding requests and student organization petitions will be held until Fall 2020.

SIUE is adhering to the CDC guidelines in addition to directives from the State of Illinois Department of Public Health. We appreciate your patience and flexibility with this ever-changing situation.

Visit for additional SIUE information specific to COVID-19 updates.

Student Government staff, advisors, senators, and executive board members are working remotely to continue advocating for students and enhancing the SIUE community experience. Until we return to campus, we encourage you to contact us via email.

We listen to your voice and we take action

At Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, we have a strong and unique student governance that speaks on behalf of the student body. We represent undergraduate, graduate and professional students on campus. Our primary function is to advocate for student issues and concern about our campus.

We invite you to join us in continuing to bring important change to our campus and in the discussions that better our community.

We are located in the SSC room 1280, directly past the Kimmel Student Involvement Center. We are open Monday - Friday from 8 AM - 4:30 PM. Come in any time during those hours to talk to an executive board member or a senator on any issues you would like to see addressed, or just to simply get to know us!

We currently have 10 executive board members and 16 senators whose job is to advocate for their schools and the student body in general. The senate meets every other Monday at P.M. in the Goshen Lounge and we welcome you to come speak to us or listen in on the improvements we are making to your campus.
