Latinx Graduation Celebration

The Kimmel Student Involvement Center, the Center for Student Diversity & Inclusion, and the Office for the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs will host SIUE's inaugural Latinx Graduation Celebration on Monday, May 6, 2019 from 4pm - 5:30pm in the Conference Center of the Morris University Center.

What is the Latinx Graduation Celebration?

The Latinx Graduation Celebration is a pre-commencement celebration to honor Latino, Latina, and Latinx students who, through unyielding determination and academic achievements, have successfully completed an undergraduate or graduate degree from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.  The ceremony acknowledges the sense of scholarly community among students and honors Latino, Latina, and Latinx culture and culminates with a graduation stole presentation.

Participation in the SIUE Latinx Graduation Celebration is open to all SIUE undergraduate, graduate and professional students who will earn their degree in Spring or Summer 2019.  Only students who have registered by Friday, April 26 at 4:30pm are guaranteed to be listed in the program, receive their recognition certificate and graduation stole.

Registration is now open and can be done here: https://siue.campuslabs.com/engage/submitter/form/start/260978

Registration will close on Friday, April 26 at 4:30pm.  No exception.  No additional participants will be added after this date.  After you register, you will receive a confirmation e-mail from Kelly Jo Karnes at some point prior to the ceremony with details/expectations for the event.

This is not an actual graduation.  It is a celebration for any graduating Latino, Latina, and Latinx students and does not replace the formal SIUE Commencement ceremonies taking place on May 10-11.
