Voter Registration & Voting

Voter registration allows qualified voters to participate in the electoral process and exercise one of their most basic rights.  Voter Registration drives occur at the beginning of each semester to provide students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to register to vote in the state of Illinois.

SIUE serves as an Early Voting location. Early Voting is only open to registered Madison County, IL residents and proof of residency is required.  Those wishing to vote will receive the ballot for their precinct.  Dates for Early Voting for the next election (General Election, November 2017) will be announced at a later date.

SIUE also serves as a Polling Place and is located in Precinct 21.  Only those registered to vote in Precinct 21 for Edwardsville/Glen Carbon are able to vote at SIUE, in the Meridian Ballroom (MUC) from 6am-7pm on Election Days.

Questions about voting or elections should be directed to your Illinois County Clerk or to the State Board of Elections for the state in which you are currently registered to vote.

If you are registered to vote in Madison County, Illinois, you can search for your polling location here.
