What is Granite City Community Garden?

The Granite City Community Gardens (GCCG) is a network that brings neighbors together to create and sustain gardens that benefit the Granite City community.  Community gardens improve the quality of life for those assisting with the garden by producing nutritious foods and reducing families’ food budgets.  The gardens also encourage self-reliance and social interaction as well as recreation, exercise, and education.

What will volunteers do?

Volunteers support the gardens by planting crops, tending to growing crops, weeding, and establishing new garden beds.

  • Participants need to wear suitable clothing and sturdy shoes.
  • Transportation will be provided.
  • Free – however, advance registration is required.
  • RSVP via GetInvolved@SIUE (click on the links below & RSVP through the event page).
