Mass Publish Scheduled for Cascade Server

February 20, 2014

Cascade Server, the University's content management system, has been experiencing display issues with pages involving https:// SIUE url’s. A solution for the display issues has been identified and will need to be applied system wide to all pages and sites by re-publishing the entire SIUE website.

The mass publish is scheduled to begin Monday, Feb. 24th at 4 p.m. and will be completed by Tuesday, Feb. 25th. We will send out a notification on Tuesday once the publish is complete.

The website will continue to be live during this time and in most cases, content managers and other users will not be affected by this mass publish. However, if users have a pages that they do not want live, they will need to go into Cascade after the mass publish is complete and un-publish those pages.

Instructions on how to un-publish a page in Cascade are provided below and can also be found on the Web Management site,

How to unpublish a page in Cascade:

• Open your page in Cascade
• Click on the 'Publish' tab.
• In the 'Options' section, check the 'Unpublish' radio button.
• Click 'Submit’.

2.25.14 UPDATE:

The sitewide re-publish was completed overnight on Feb. 24th. Users can resume work in Cascade. All pages using the https:// protocol should be displaying properly.

If your site is not displaying correctly:
We have checked numerous sites and all are displaying properly, but if you find that your site does not look right when using the https:// protocol (you will just see a bunch of links stacked on top of each other), please let us know and we can re-publish your specific site, or, you can simply re-publish your site by clicking on your site's folder in the left column of Cascade, going to the "Publish" tab to the right, and clicking the "Submit" button. This will publish your entire site.

All pages on your site have now been published in Cascade and are live on the web server. If you have a page that you do not want to be live, you can un-publish it by following the instructions listed above. Instructions on how to un-publish a page can also be found on the Web Management site,
