Upperclass Focused Interest Communities
For the 2023-2024 academic year, University Housing is offering upperclass Engineering, Health Professionals, and Honors FICs. As part of the application for space, students interested in living in one of the upperclass FICs will be required to answer the following three essay questions:
- What are you interested in the FIC?
- What experiences would you like to have while living in the FIC?
- What do you hope to contribute to the FIC?
Engineering FIC
The Engineering FIC is located in Evergreen Hall. Students with a declared major within the School of Engineering are eligible to live in this community. Interested students can select the Engineering FIC on the online application space. Students can request roommates in the Engineering FIC but all mutual roommates must also request the Engineering FIC. This community is a great fit for Engineering students.
- Environment will provide quiet space to focus and study alone or with other engineering majors.
- Support and engagement from a Faculty Fellow from the School of Engineering.
- Resident Assistant who is also from the School of Engineering.
- A variety of programs and resources geared toward your future career.
Health Professionals FIC
The Health Professionals FIC is located in Cougar Village. Students intending to pursue a health oriented professional program such as dentistry, nursing, or pharmacy are eligible to live in this community. Specific majors may include biology, chemistry, nursing, exercise science. Interested students can select the Health Professionals FIC on the online application space. Students can request roommates in the Health Professionals FIC but all mutual roommates must also request the Health Professionals FIC. This community is a great fit for students pursing a health oriented professional career.
- Environment will provide quiet and studious environment to study alone or with other health professionals majors.
- Live with students majoring in intensive health and medical fields.
- Support and engagement from a Faculty Fellow from a health professional field.
- Resident Assistant who is also from a health professional field.
- A variety of programs and resources geared toward your future career.
Honors FIC
The Honors FIC is located in Evergreen Hall. This community houses students who are Meridian Scholars and/or in the Honors Program.
- Environment will provide quiet and studious environment to study alone or with other individuals in the Honors Program.
- Live with students in the Meridian Scholars or Honors Program.
- Support and engagement from a Faculty Fellow.
- A variety of programs and resources geared toward your future career.
