How do I approve, deny, or send back a document in Kuali Build?

You will receive a notification via email with a link that will take you to the document requiring your action. If you do not have the original email, you can access the document via your Action List.

Once you've reviewed the document, you can either Approve, Deny, or Send Back the document.

To Approve: Click the Approve Button to the right of the screen. This action will send the document to the next approver or complete the routing depending on the workflow of the application.

To Deny: Click the Deny button to the right of the screen. A dialogue box will appear for a denial message to be sent to the applicant. This action will permanently stop the routing of the document and keep it from moving forward. Performing this action requires the applicant to submit an entirely new document, if needed. See Send Back as an alternative option if the applicant only needs to make minor adjustments to the document.

To Send Back: If there are revisions to the document needed, click Send Back to the right of the screen and a dialogue box will appear for a message to be sent to the applicant. This action sends a notification to the applicant, including your message, so that they can make changes to their original submission and submit it for rerouting.
