General Assistantship (1985-2024)


• Bachelor’s degree
• Acceptance into SIUE Graduate School; must maintain a 6-12 hour course load per semester
• Evidence of sound organizational skills
• Ability to interact effectively with student-athletes, colleagues, and the public
• Outstanding computer skills
• Previous experience with collegiate women’s basketball, which includes as a student-athlete or manager

• Previous social media, videography and/or graphic design experience
• Graphic design and/or Photoshop & InDesign knowledge

Position Description

The graduate assistant will assist the Head Coach and Assistant Coaches in all facets of the women’s basketball program. Primarily the graduate assistant will be responsible for graphic design, videography and social media management. During practice, the graduate assistant will also assist with set-up/breakdown, filming, clock operation and tracking of statistics. During home and away competitions, the graduate assistant will be responsible for team meal logistics as well as other travel logistics. During games, the graduate assistant will work with the staff on statistical and video analysis and post game film exchange. The graduate assistant works closely with the coaching staff in regards to operations for the program.

The graduate assistant in this position will develop skills in human relations, supervision skills, public presentations, and communication and documentation skills. Candidate must be available for evening and weekend events, frequent travel during the basketball season and comply with University, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.

10-month appointment beginning August 1, 2024 through May 31, 2025. The expectation is for a two year commitment to the position through subsequent appointment renewals, assuming success in the position.
