Position Description

GRADUATE ASSISTANTSHIP OPPORTUNITY AT THE SIU SCHOOL OF DENTAL MEDICINE’S ADVANCED CARE CLINIC

ATTENTION FIRST YEAR NURSE ANESTHESIA STUDENTS ONLY:

The SIU School of Dental Medicine’s Advanced Care Clinic is currently accepting applications for a graduate assistant position for Summer 2023/Fall 2023/Spring 2024.

Position Requirements and Benefits:
• Each position is 20 hours per week
• Must be a Registered Nurse enrolled in SIUE CRNA Program
• Must be ACLS and PALS certified; prefer critical care experience
• Must be enrolled a minimum of 6 credit hours and in good academic standing
• Includes a monthly salary and tuition waiver (the student is still responsible for fees related to the degree that is being pursued)

Job Description:
• Act primarily as a preoperative and PACU nurse
• Take on varying levels of organizational leadership training (scheduling, patient/parent education, etc.)
• When not directly caring for patients, GA would be welcome to observe in the OR with the attending and Senior SRNA student

Schedule:
• Set schedule, Monday through Thursday, no weekends, coordinated with CRNA curricular schedule
• This is an in-person position and does not have an online component
