The Alestle is the award-winning student news organization at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. We are looking for a graduate assistant to serve as Advertising Manager. The GA will learn from the program director all aspects of Alestle advertising operations and managing advertising sales staff, including recruiting and coaching sales staff to encourage increased sales, better approaches to client services and development of new or improved ad products, especially determining best ways to incorporate convergence technology into everyday processes of advertising sales and product delivery.
The graduate assistant will learn ways to best address needs of clients as well as developing new clients, and, thereby, fostering growth of The Alestle.
Print, web, social media and campus display advertising sales will absolutely be required.
We are in a rebuilding period in which we will also need a strategic and long-term marketing campaign to raise the profile of The Alestle in surrounding communities, thereby cultivating client leads.
The position will start in Fall 2022.
