Qualifications

 Qualifications Required:

Must be admitted into one of the following SIUE graduate programs: College Student Personnel, Business (excludes Computer Management & Information Systems), Education (excludes Speech Pathology), History, Mass Communication, Psychology, Public Administration, Social Work, Sociology, or Speech Comm., & maintain a 6-12 hour load per semester. Previous involvement in event planning, student activities, & leadership development experience required. Must demonstrate communication & computer skills. Evidence of strong organizational skills and ability to work with minimal supervision required. Must be available to share in supervision of frequent evening & weekend programs. Position Description

 The Campus Activities Board (CAB) GA’s main role is to advise two or more student chairpersons in planning a portion of 100+ events, budgeting, communicating professionally, and to provide them with other developmental opportunities.

The GA ensures that these events aim to improve campus life through providing social, recreational, educational, and cultural programs at SIUE. In addition to interacting with multiple student chairpersons, CAB also has an executive board with four student leaders. While it is the role of the Associate Director to directly advise this board, the GAs also work with and develop these students as well. The GA’s role consists of supporting the Associate Director and Coordinator in administrative duties such as budgeting, record keeping, and developing trainings to develop the chairpersons within CAB. The GA will perform other duties as assigned.
