Job Description
To assist with providing classroom enrichment instruction, tutorial sessions, workshops, group training sessions, and one on one sessions to program participants in related subject areas; To assist with office related assignments such as providing assistance in creating reports and/or creating statistical data or other technology related work; To carry out a variety of smaller duties as they are assigned by the program director and/or departmental information supervisor:
- Plan, schedule, and implement effective individual and group advising sessions.
- Administer program assessment instruments.
- Assist program participants with completion of post-secondary education programs, applications for entry, financial aid material, and scholarship information.
- Assist with monitoring, coordinating, and implementing the summer component.
Qualifications Required
Admission into a graduate program of study at SIUE; Bachelor Degree in any of the following: Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, or Social Work. Knowledge of and sensitivity toward problems of minority and disadvantaged students desired; Must submit an official transcript and have ability to establish rapport with youth.
Period of Appointment
50% appointment- Summer, Fall, Spring semesters
Salary Range
1st Year Assistant: $595-$753 monthly
2nd Year Assistant: $622-$791 monthly
