NSF aims to bring together multidisciplinary teams (not limited to biotech) together to bring basic science forward at an earlier stage in a wide range of sectors and expertise. Industry, academia, government and community are pulled together to move technologies from a nascent stage to a benefit for society by getting to know the end user and nudging the research to accommodate those goals.
