NSF MRI Program Virtual Townhall Meeting – December 7-8
Posted November 30, 2022
Discipline(s): Science and Engineering
The National Science Foundation (NSF) Major Research Instrumentation (MRI) program serves to increase access to multi-user scientific and engineering instrumentation for research and training in our Nation's institutions of higher education and for not-for-profit scientific/engineering research organizations. MRI supports the acquisition or development of a multi-user research instrument that is, in general, too costly and/or not appropriate for support through other NSF programs. MRI is a Foundation-wide Program to fund instruments generally in the range from $100,000 up to and including $4 million (see solicitation for exceptions). Recently, solicitation NSF 23-519 was published for the MRI program. The deadline for proposals is February 21, 2023.
On Wednesday, December 7 and Thursday, December 8, 2022, NSF will host outreach townhalls with information about the latest MRI funding opportunity. The session will begin at 1:00 p.m. EST and have two parts: 1) Session 1: a general MRI information session (1:00 p.m. -1:45 p.m. EST), followed by 2) Session 2: a Question and Answer Session.
There may be discipline-specific sessions to provide technical information and feedback. Please check with the cognizant Program Officer listed under "Program contacts" on the MRI Program web page: https://beta.nsf.gov/funding/opportunities/major-research-instrumentation-program-mri.
