NSF Partnerships for Innovation (PFI) - Research Partnerships Limited Submission – LOI Due in Kuali Build by November 2
Posted October 5, 2022
Discipline(s): All
The NSF Partnerships for Innovation (PFI): Research Partnerships (PFI-RP) track seeks to achieve the same goals as the PFI-TT track by supporting instead complex, multi-faceted technology development projects that are typically beyond the scope of a single researcher or institution and require a multi-organizational, interdisciplinary, synergistic collaboration. A PFI-RP project requires the creation of partnerships between academic researchers and third-party organizations such as industry, non-academic research organizations, federal laboratories, public or non-profit technology transfer organizations or other universities. Such partnerships are needed to conduct applied research on a stand-alone larger project toward commercialization and societal impact. In the absence of such synergistic partnership, the project’s likelihood for success would be minimal.
The NSF deadline for submission are the second Wednesday in July and the second Wednesday in January. As a limited program, however, the program allows each institution to submit only one (1) proposal.
Limit on Number of Proposals per Organization:
An organization may not submit more than one (1) new or resubmitted PFI-RP proposal to a deadline of this solicitation.
Due to the limit on the number of proposals per institution, interested SIUE applicants must apply to the internal competition by completing the Limited Submission form in Kuali Build by the First Wednesday in November.
Winners of the internal competition will be notified of their authorization to submit a full proposal to the NSF by the last week in November. Full proposals will be due to NSF on the second Wednesday in January.
All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply, including minorities, women, persons with disabilities, and protected veterans. Faculty with disabilities desiring accommodations in the application process should contact the Office of Equal Opportunity and Access at (618) 650-2333
