NSF by the Numbers, NSF's dashboard of key metrics, provides the research community access to statistical and funding information for awards funded, institutions funded, funding rates, proposals evaluated, and award obligations by fiscal year (FY).
Made publicly available in October 2021, NSF by the Numbers enables the research community to explore statistics at many different levels. Here’s what can be viewed.
- A 10-year view based on FY2011 – FY2021 for all measures
- Geographical Map: View by states, Congressional districts, and institutions
- Metrics at the selected Directorate/Division level
- Detailed reports for Awards
- Trendline comparisons for all metrics
The dashboard also has added new features for an enhanced search and view of the following data:
- Numbers by State:
- Easily filter for "New Awards Funded by Institution" by typing in your search using the blank search field from the dropdown menu
- Choose to display New Awards Funded by NSF Directorate or Division using the dropdown tab
- Visit Numbers by State and select any desired state on the interactive map to see metrics broken down by congressional districts within the state. Hover over each district to see the available information including the Congressional District Codes.
