Compliance Highlight - Updates to IRB Template

The IRB template has been updated to include several changes:
- There is now a checklist for researchers to select what platforms they are using for recruitment. Keep in mind, not all recruitment platforms are considered anonymous. Make sure you select all platforms you will use to recruit.
- Additional questions for studies using FDA approved drugs or devices. If you are going to put in a protocol that uses FDA approved drugs or devices, make sure to proactively reach out to our office at researchcompliance@siue.edu
- A new section for all protocols called “Admin Determinations.” This section can only be edited by the Office of Research and Projects but will be visible to all researchers listed on the protocol. We encourage all researchers to take a look at that section. There will be helpful information in that section like:
- Where is the protocol in the review process
- Details on why it is going through a certain review process
- What review category the protocol fits under
- What next steps are for the protocol
The goal of the new section is to provide transparency to researchers once the protocol is submitted. Researchers can check back in on their protocol while it’s in review to see the status throughout the entire review.
