NIH- Extended Grants.gov Downtime Impacts September 22-30 Due Dates

Grants.gov will migrate their services to the cloud during an extended downtime from Friday, September 23, 2022 at 12:01 AM ET through Thursday, September 29, 2022 at 11:59 PM ET.
To mitigate the impact, NIH due dates that fall on or between Thursday, September 22 and Friday, September 30, 2022 will move to October 3, 2022, with some caveats and considerations.

NIAID- Know Your Closeout Obligations at Project’s End

Within 120 days of your project period’s end date, you must submit the following Final Reports for Grant Closeout:
- Final Research Performance Progress Report (F-RPPR)
- Final Federal Financial Report (FFR)
- Final Invention Statement and Certification (FIS)
If you have already submitted a renewal application of your grant, the link available in eRA Commons will be for the submission of an Interim-RPPR (I-RPPR) instead of the F-RPPR. If your renewal application is funded, the ...

NIH Data Management and Sharing Policy – Implementation Update

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has issued a new policy for data management and sharing to promote the management and sharing of scientific data generated from NIH-funded or conducted research. This policy goes into effect on January 25, 2023 and replaces the 2003 NIH Data Sharing Policy.

NIH Funded Early-Stage Investigators Report

In FY21, NIH supported 1,513 new ESIs as first-time PIs on R01-equivalent awards. This new all-time high level of support for ESIs represents a 7.2% increase over FY 2020. As there were 5,410 total applicants, this represents a funding rate of 28.0%.
