NIH Update on Postdoctoral Appointee Minimum Compensation for FY2023

Following an announcement released by the National Institutes of Health on May 13, 2022, Postdoctoral Research Associates and Scholars for FY2023 will be $54,840 per year as of July 1, 2022 (per year defined as a 12-month appointment).
The postdoctoral appointee minimum compensation (salary or stipend) amount is tied to the NIH NRSA year 0 postdoctoral stipend amount with a delayed start. Therefore, the FY2023 minimum starting on July 1, 2022 will be the FY2022 Federal NIH NRSA Postdoctoral Year 0 minimum of $54,840, as indicated in the notice NOT-OD-22-132. This notice replaces NOT-OD-22-108 and corrects the postdoctoral appointee minimum compensation from $54,835 to $54,840.
