Compliance: Disclosure Reminder – Foreign Influence
Posted November 17, 2021
In 2018 the NSF issued a statement about the need for Universities to adhere to Conflict of Interest policies. Since then, several agencies have released guidance to ensure full transparency in federal funding applications and throughout the life of a grant through the disclosure of all sources of research support, foreign components, and financial conflicts of interests.
SIUE has modified our Kuali Conflict of Interest disclosure form to include questions on participation in foreign government talent recruitment program and funding from foreign entities. Full disclosure of all support and/or appointments is vital to the integrity of research and failure to disclose may be considered research misconduct. For more information, see SIUE's Research Integrity webpage.
More information on foreign government talent programs, Current and Pending Support, and “Other Support” can be found on our Conflict of Interest webpage including updated NSF guidance on what information is required on proposal submission documents, examples of NIH Other Support and contact information for our office if there are any questions on what is required to be disclosed.
