Federal Funds and Intellectual Property

The Bayh Dole Act requires that all inventions developed from federal funds be reported in iEdison. The SIU Office of Technology Transfer handles the reporting via iEdison but some agencies have specific forms as well, such as:
- Department of Defense – Form DD882, positive or negative report required
- Department of Energy – Patent Certification form, positive or negative report required
- NASA – Technology Reporting System, positive reports only
- NIH – Final Invention Statement, positive or negative report required
- NSF –project report should include invention information.
