The goal of the SIU System Collaboration Grant program is to promote new biomedical research collaborations between faculty within SIU School of Medicine, SIU Edwardsville, and SIU Carbondale. To qualify as a new team (co-PIs), faculty may not have previously published together as co-authors or worked together previously on internal or external grants or grant submissions. Faculty from at least two campuses must be represented on the team. Each faculty member must have a well-defined and meaningful role on the project. It is expected that one proposal will be funded. Total available funding will be $20,000 if two campuses are represented and $30,000 if all three campuses are represented. 

A budget for each represented campus up to $10,000 must be submitted. The budgets need not be identical but must be tailored to the amount and type of work to be performed on each campus.

Applications will be reviewed by a committee comprised of faculty members of the SOM, Edwardsville and Carbondale campuses.
